Star City Elevators is an elevator photographer based in Lincoln, Nebraska.

History

He had a facination with elevators as a little kid, and his parents took him on elevator rides while shopping so he could push the buttons. The facination lasted, but childhood didn't. As a college student at UNL, he discovered the elevator community upon a random YouTube search, and decided to give elevator filming a try.

He filmed his first elevator on September 29th, 2011 in his dorm. That take did not go well because it was too busy. He then proceeded out to find some elevators that were less busy. He opened his first YouTube account filmer394 on January 31, 2012, which he still marks as his anniversary. A year and a half later, on June 26th, 2013, he created his current YouTube channel, Star City Elevators. He had produced enough content on filmer394 that he didn't want to go to waste, so he re-uploaded one to three old videos a day in chronological order. The whole transferring process took over three months!

As of today, Star City Elevators maintains a spitting image of the glory days of elevator enthusiasm (minus the bad stuff!), a strightforward, point-blank sense of humor with a little bit of sarcasm, and hope for aspiring elevator enthusiasts in rural areas.

Trivia

  • Contrary to popular opinion, Star City Elevators is not the first elevator filmer in Nebraska, YouTube user heartlandham has taken his autistic son Geoffrey on elevator adventures and posted them to YouTube long before Star City Elevators joined YouTube. Shihtzu Fan was the true first enthusiast from Nebraska, as he has filmed elevators since at latest 2008.
  • He has met up with Vator' Hunters, ElevatorNut13, and Super Techno Cat.
  • He also uploads elevator videos on Rumble.
  • He has pioneered the "Epic motor compilation" trend, where a string of clips of epic motors are put into one video, and viewers vote on their favorite.
