TheDragonFire123, also known by the first name Ethan, is an elevator filmer based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. He is one of the first local Brisbane elevator filmers since the withdrawal of elevatorman555 from the elevator community.

History[]

Pre-YouTube (2007 to October 2016)[]

Before filming, Ethan got interested in elevators by riding two scenic elevators on a family trip to Vietnam (currently thought to be Sigma). He was also interested in the Otis elevator at Wesley Mission, Sinnamon Park, and the EPL Kone elevators 5 and 6 at Verona House, at Canossa Private Hospital.

On August 28, 2016, Ethan recorded Elevator 8 at Verona House, Canossa Private Hospital. This, although not uploaded, is the oldest surviving video in his backlog, though this is not the first elevators; those were ironically shot on foreign soil, in the US.

Early days (November 2016 to early-2017)[]

On November 11, 2016, Ethan recorded elevator 3 at Westfield Garden City. One day later, he uploaded it. Although surpassed by later videos, this video boasts a solid 128 views.

November 13 saw the recording and upload of Ethan's second video, an elevator derby of all of Verona House. While, during these early days, most of his videos aren't filmed as professionally as later ones, they still have quite a good reputation, and some of the more popular videos (including what was once the second most-popular elevator video, a Dover Impulse) are filmed during this period.

Later days (February 2017 to August 2017)[]

In May 2017, Transitliam Brotv stopped uploading videos (although he has returned), and Lachcon 275 has shown no signs of returning. This left Ethan as the sole Brisbane elevator filmer, and one of the only to upload routinely in 1080p.

On Tuesday, June 27, 2017, Ethan got a new camera, a Nikon Coolpix W100. This left a lot of openings for retakes, including the Westfield Garden City Elevator 3.

On July 3, 2017, Ethan went on a trip to Tasmania, from Hobart to Launceston. He returned just in time for school in July 10.

On March 13, 2020, Ethan released his long-awaited memorial video, Lifts We Lost, designed to commemorate various 15 elevators that had been lost in his filming career in 2018 and 2019. Later that year, he filmed the very first KDS 220 and uploaded it to YouTube.
