The Elevator Channel (born July 3, 1993), also known by his real name Jacob Bachta, is an elevator filmer/enthusiast from St. Louis, Missouri, United States.

History

Jacob first interested in elevators since in his early age, one of his earliest memories are from the days when his parents would take him to ride on the glass elevators at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City, MO[1]. Ever since, he has always enjoyed taking rides on elevators.

Jacob has been filming elevators since July 4, 2008. He used two accounts on YouTube.  On March 3, 2008, he launched his first channel jack9547. However, he discontinued it and replaced it with his current channel The Elevator Channel, which was launched in mid-October 2009.

His recording devices included a Sony HandyCam that he gave to dieselducy, a Sony DSC-TX100V and a Sony DSC-TX20. It is unknown what his recording devices were before he started shooting in High Definition (HD). His Kodak Zi6 was given to defunct YouTube user Streetcar1743.

He and dieselducy have met up several times in 2011, 2012, and 2013. They could be unofficially called the top elevator filmers in the United States.
